Why I think you actually want a push in the back or a kick in the pants!
Are you honestly satisfied with what you’re achieving financially? Are you satisfied with your progress towards your goals? Do you need a push in the back or a kick in the pants?
I’m hot on the topic of coaching at the moment. I have studied the experts in many fields and all of them tell me that they need to have a coach to help them to achieve more. Tiger Woods has a golf coach. Sam Morgan has a business coach. So why shouldn’t you have a financial coach? I do.
So why is a coach good? Well a coach is only good if they bring out the best in you and help you to reach new heights. The way that they do this is to push you in a way that allows you to stretch yourself in healthy steps. There’s no point in being pushed beyond your personal limits. That only leads to breaking point. And there’s no point being softly coaxed to move outside your comfort zone. That just encourages you to lie about your lack of courage. A good coach draws the best out of you.
In my personal experience I find the best coach helps me to find the answers. How do they do that? Well I had a coach once who said “the quality of the question determines the quality of the answer”. So the harder he pushed me to provide quality challenging questions the better I became.
How do you do that with your finances?
Let me give you some questions that you can use to try and sharpen your finances.
Are you currently satisfied with your financial achievement?
What are the three top reasons for your lack of success?
Which one could you change in the next week/month?
What specifically are you going to do about it?
Who will you be accountable to, to make sure you do it?
You might like me to be your financial coach but I can’t fill all aspects. For instance, I can’t lean over and clip you around the ears when you need it. So there’s the second clue.
Find a friend or someone you can be honest with. Accountability it will help you! I’m a big fan of you using the ‘fear of shame’ to energise you to make serious changes in your life. And I don’t mean that in a negative way, I personally use it in a constructive way to help me to motivate myself to do the things that are needed to improve my results.
So get a coach. Find a way to get someone to help you look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. After all if you can improve yourself you will improve your results. If you achieve more, you can do more with it.
So I’ll leave you with this question. What would you do if you had more? Maybe the answer to that will motivate you Go well.
