Making Great Christmas Memories Without Breaking the Bank
Well it’s just turned December but Santa already arrived at my house 3 weeks ago in all his shining magnificence. How did this happen? Why do I so willingly get caught up in all the commercialisation of Christmas? Quite simply this: memories.
Money is a very powerful tool. It can do much good and it can also do much harm. Money is a tool that must be used wisely and carefully to make sure it achieves the correct result.
You might be thinking that memories cost a lot of money. Not always. The best family memories are often created through imagination, not expense.
So why did Christmas come early to the Strong household? It’s all about bending the rules to give opportunity for memories to be created.
You see I had the pleasure of having my in-laws in town that week. The kids love having the grandparents at home – there are always plenty of exciting things happening. But at this time of year the build-up to Christmas is larger than life and the kids are very excited.
So we had a mini-celebration on the Friday night decorating the house and putting up the Christmas tree. Being able to have fun with the grandparents made this more special for the grandkids. And I’m happy because my kids are happy.
