Seven Reasons to be Happy the Year Has Started

It’s official – the year has begun. As your Christmas memories fade into the distance and your sun tan disappears behind the work clothes you could be at risk of becoming a little depressed.

But fear not! There are many reasons you can be happy. You can be filled with faith that this year will be a beauty.

Here are seven reasons to SMILE as you fight the slide into the ‘middle of the year’ mentality.

Those pesky days-off are behind us. We can now settle down into a solid block of five ten-hour days and put in an honest week’s work. Now we should be able to get something decent achieved.

School is back and the kids come home tired. Hopefully that means they go to sleep earlier.

Now that school is back the traffic is nice and thick. Finally we have enough time to catch the funny bits on the morning radio show. And the queue at the traffic lights means you have enough time to text and drive safely.

By now the credit card bill from Christmas holiday has arrived. Thank goodness we can finally sit down and work out what we spent.

The good weather has finally arrived! No longer do we have to be concerned about UV rays and burn-time. Being in the office reduces the risk of skin disease due to over exposure. We should also be thankful that this great weather didn’t bother us while we were off work.

The rugby season has started. I don’t know how we all survived the two long months we had over summer without NZ rugby playing. If you had access to Sky you may have survived by watching the Northern Hemisphere games.

Christmas is a long way off. You can be assured that you have plenty of time to buy your partner/friend/family the present you forgot last year. There are 312 shopping days to Christmas!
More seriously though, this year can be a cracker. 2007 is filled with opportunity and plenty of avenues for you to succeed. Clearly articulated goals will make sure that the year flies by and you end the year reflecting on the wonderful time you had. So if you haven’t managed it yet – set some FINANCIAL GOALS for yourself for this coming year.

(And if I see you texting while driving, when you’re not stuck in traffic, you’ll be in trouble!)
